Does Google Adwords Charge Tax for Canadians?
If you’re wondering if Google Adwords charges federal tax (GST) or provincial taxes (PST, HST, etc.) on Adwords ads, then you’ve come to the right place.
This article was written on June 12, 2018. Google could change their policies over time (or Trump could remove the NAFTA agreement on services) however at the time this is accurate.

After speaking with Google and their initially saying taxes were charged, I have received verification that no Canadian taxes are being charged on your Adwords ad spend.
It seems they’re billing everyone out of Mountainview California and given the Canada and US free trade agreement, no taxes are added. Not to get political, but I truly hope this relationship continues as it’s on shaky ground at the time of writing. We love our American neighbours and don’t mind turning the other cheek with some recent tweets… Free trade is good for us all. It helps our nations share our strengths with each other and grow in a harmonious non-zero-sum way.
